“In the last 25 years that I have lived in Las Vegas, I have not found one agency that does as much for the poor as Catholic Charities. From the very young to the very old, from the homeless to those seeking employment, from the immigrants to those who need a helping hand, Catholic Charities supports them all. They use almost every penny given to them to insure the safety of everyone who comes to them while using a minimum amount for operational expenses. No one who is hungry is turned away. They serve over a million meals a year through their dining room and Meals on Wheels. That doesn’t count the food supplied through their Social Services Department. I love what Catholic Charities does to help the less fortunate in our valley and believe that they are the true instrument of Pope Francis’s direction to feed the poor. That is why I love and support everything that Catholic Charities does. They are my conduit to the poor.” – Ed Skonicki
