Vice President of Social Services
Albert D. Chavez has been part of Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada since September 2016.
He currently serves as the agency’s Vice President of Social Services which is responsible for the overall operation of the agency’s Residential Services, Client Services, Case Management and Adoption Services. Albert has worked the last seventeen years in social services. He has his Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies; his Master’s degree in Counseling; his Post Graduate Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership; is currently completing his Doctorate in Counseling; is a Certified Family Life Educator and is an United States Army Veteran.
Family Care Consultant
Susan is the Adoption Services Family Care Consultant. Susan has worked with Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada for over 24 years, and has an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. Susan’s primary role is a supportive position for adoptive parents navigating through the process of adoption, for birth parents making the emotional and loving decision to place their child for adoption, and for adoptees searching for a connection to their identity and birth families. During her career with Catholic Charities, Susan has participated in approximately 600 adoption placements. She enjoys participating in the adoptive parenting classes offered through Catholic Charities and serves as notary public. Susan also has work experience as manager of the Senior Services Program, assisting seniors in our community to remain independent in their homes.As an adult adoptee, Susan has a personal adoption experience. She recently met her birth family and enjoys a happy relationship with them. Susan states that she is, “blessed to have two loving and supportive families. The stories and memories shared by my families help us all to complete our tapestry of life.”
Community Outreach Coordinator
Monica Manglona is the Adoption Services Community Outreach Coordinator for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. Monica works with organizations throughout southern Nevada to help familiarize the public with the services our department provides. Monica believes that by getting out into the community we can build a strong foundation and enhance our chances of helping those in need of our services. Monica has worked in adoption services in Accra, Ghana. She also worked closely with adults and children who were developmentally delayed. She received her undergraduates at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
