Fueling the Holidays: the Bull Team at Rebel Stores' Support for Catholic Charities

As the holiday season is quickly approaching, Catholic Charities is doing our best to ensure we are fully prepared to give back to the community of Southern Nevada this holiday season. Thanks to the generosity and assistance from 95.5 the Bull as they teamed up with rebel gas station rewards to help put together a Christmas toy drive that would help us gather presents to give back to the children in need here in Southern Nevada.

Rebel Rewards Gifts for Gas Initiative

Locals were invited to donate new $15 toys at their local Rebel Gas Station. In return, they received a $15 Rebel Rewards gift certificate for gas. The goal was not just to collect toys for children in need, but to help out those in the community who had the means to assist our mission of spreading joy this holiday season.

We had a wonderful turn-out at this event and are so grateful for those within the community coming together to help our cause. On December 16, we plan on handing out toys to ensure the children from less fortunate families still are able to have a bountiful and magical Christmas. 

How to Donate Toys for Christmas

• Toys For Tots: The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation embodies the spirit of giving during the holiday season, aiming to bring joy to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. The Foundation conducts toy drives, collecting locally donated toys to distribute to children in need. 
• Angel Tree Program: The Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program, is dedicated to ensuring every child experiences the magic of the season, this program orchestrates a nationwide toy drive. Participants can choose an "Angel" from the tree at Walmart or shop online via Walmart’s Spark Good Registry, fulfilling a child's Christmas wish list.

From December 11 to 16, we’re seeking dedicated individuals to assist in sorting toys for our upcoming giveaway on December 16. Your involvement as a volunteer alleviates the concern of selecting the perfect toy or finding time to make a donation, offering a meaningful alternative to support our cause.

Recognizing that not everyone can provide monetary donations, Catholic Charities extends opportunities to engage through volunteering. We host free holiday meals open to the public, requiring extra hands for tasks such as serving meals, clearing tables, sanitizing, and more. Our St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility will serve the free Holiday Meal on December 25th.

Your volunteerism ensures that everyone in our community is cared for, enjoying a warm holiday meal. The act of volunteering not only contributes to the well-being of others but also provides inspiration and uplifting during the festive season. For those with busy schedules, we offer remote volunteer opportunities, expanding access to contribute to our various programs.
