But each year, there are people in our community who struggle to afford essential items like food and winter clothing. To support community members going through these difficult times, and especially the holiday season, many organizations collect donations. As you begin to grocery shop and buy gifts, consider grabbing an extra something to donate. Holiday donations can help bring a smile to someone who needs it. Where to Donate Food in Las Vegas

At Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, we’re always looking for food donations as we approach the holidays. We put together a Thanksgiving meal kit for families that’s heavily funded by both monetary donations as well as food donations. For this kit, we are looking for frozen turkeys and nonperishable items like green beans, cranberry sauce, and boxed mashed potatoes. Learn more and make a holiday donation today.

If you’re looking to make a more general food donation, our Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry is accepting donations. We are currently looking for nonperishable items like pasta, soup, canned meats and vegetables, peanut butter, and more. If you’d like to have a Christmas or holiday theme, feel free to donate your holiday meal essentials like canned yams or cranberry sauce. Where to Donate Coats Near You

As we enter the winter months, coats and warm clothing become an essential part of everyday life. Catholic Charities, as well as other organizations like Salvation Army, accept clothing donations in Las Vegas. We encourage you to gather lightly worn winter items like coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, and shoes to donate this season. Your donated coat can keep a member of your community warm this winter. Take care of men, women, and children around you by dropping off a clothing donation near you.

Host a Holiday Donation Drive

Looking to get more people involved in your holiday donation efforts? Host a traditional or virtual donation drive through Catholic Charities. Pick your timeline and item focus—food, clothing, etc.—and let people know about it. Whether you do it through your church, club, school, organization, or start it yourself, donation drives are a wonderful way to make an impact this holiday season. Drop off your drive items or have them shipped to us directly at our donation center near you on Las Vegas Boulevard North in Las Vegas.
