How to Get Involved

  1. Complete an Individual volunteer application
  2. If you are a group of 5 or more, please submit a Group application and we will contact you to schedule your group (If you need service hour verification, you must submit an individual application)
  3. We will contact you to complete the process and give you access to schedule yourself to volunteer.
  4. RETURNING VOLUNTEERS: Login to VicNet (Volunteer Center)
  5. Consider also joining us for a tour to learn more about Catholic Charities!

Volunteer Guidelines

  • MANDATORY DRESS CODE: Long pants (no leggings), shirt with sleeves, closed-two shoes
  • Parking is limited-carpooling is recommended
  • Please bring only what you can carry in your pockets; there is no storage for personal items

1. Community Meal at St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility

Assist us with providing meal service to homeless and vulnerable men, women and children. We prepare an average of 1,000 nutritious meals in a clean and safe environment each and every day of the year. Volunteer duties may include distributing serving trays; serving food; providing table service to clients with physical disabilities; washing/sanitizing used dishes and trays; wiping tables; sweeping/mopping floors and more.

*Must be 12 years old or older, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

*Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift

Community Meal service: Daily, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.



2. Meals on Wheels Tray-Line at St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility


The Meals On Wheels Tray Line Volunteer is integral member of our team assisting 2,100 clients each day. This volunteer is responsible for placing appropriate portions of food items on individual trays. We provide a set of seven frozen nutritious meals once a week to homebound seniors 60 years and older.

*Must be 16 years old or older, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Meals on Wheels Tray-Line: Sunday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

3. Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry

Assist families in need as they shop for food items, fresh produce, baby goods, and hygiene items in a supermarket setting. Volunteer duties may include greeting, welcoming and assisting shoppers; sorting donations, checking for expiration dates, removing outdated/spoiled produce; stocking shelves; bagging groceries; cleaning; sweeping/mopping floors, general tidying.

*Must be 12 years old or older, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Food Pantry: Monday – Saturday, between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m  (typical shift is 2 hours)
