It’s hard to imagine being without something as simple as food, but many people who come to our campus arrive here because these and other basic needs aren’t being met. Four year old Nyia came to our dining room with her Aunt and Grandmother for the Feast of Hope. Now, they’re at a point in their life where they really need it. Nyia lives with her Grandmother and her Grandfather has stage 4 lymphoma cancer. Now, on some days, they’re struggling just to get by.

Fortunately Catholic Charities is there to help hungry families like Nyia’s. The St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility serves an average of 1,000 meals a day. A warm meal may not seem like much, but to a growing child proper nutrition can make a lifetime’s difference. Our dedicated kitchen staff prepares food that is fresh, nutritious, and, as we’re receiving referrals, tastes really good. “I liked the meal, Nyia liked the meal too because her face was in the plate. The whole family will be coming back,” said LaRaysa Wyatt.

Established in 1965, the St. Vincent Lied Dining Facility feeds an average of 750 nutritious meals each day to homeless and men, women, and children in need every day of the year, in a clean and safe environment, no questions asked.

Meals Served Dailyst lied

FREE Community Meals:
Everyday | 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Additional Meals Served to the Public: $5 per Meal
Breakfast: Monday through Friday | 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: Monday through Friday | 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Accepted forms of payment: Cash, EBT, Debit and Credit cards

 

Meals are also served daily to:

  • Men in the Resident Empowerment Program
  • Residents of the St. Vincent Apartments

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Assist us with providing meal service to homeless and vulnerable men, women and children. We prepare an average of 1,000 nutritious meals in a clean and safe environment each and every day of the year. Volunteer duties may include distributing serving trays; serving food; providing table service to clients with physical disabilities; washing/sanitizing used dishes and trays; wiping tables; sweeping/mopping floors and more.
