Hosts Turkey Pardon to Kick Off Annual Turkey Drive

Turkey Drive donations will help feed the most vulnerable families during the holiday season

WHAT:

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is calling on the entire community to help collect 1,000 frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving Turkey Drive will kick off on Thursday, November 5th, at the Catholic Charities campus, with the pardoning of a live turkey provided by Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary.

One of Catholic Charities’ annual traditions 29 years ¬and counting – has been organizing a Thanksgiving baskey giveaway, which provides a frozen turkey, nonperishable dinner fixings and pie to its most vulnerable clients. It is the Valley’s largest turkey giveaway, serving approximately 4,000 families.

Frozen turkey donations will be accepted daily from 6 a.m-6 p.m. through Nov. 25 at the Catholic Charities campus, located at 1501 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
